28-Year-Old Hudson Valley Woman Charged In Pair Of Armed Robberies

A 28-year-old Hudson Valley woman is behind bars after being charged with two armed gas station robberies.

Orange County resident Julia Marcinak, of of Highland Falls, was charged on Monday, Dec. 4 with the armed robbery of two gas stations in Poughkeepsie, said Capt. Michael O'Dowd, of the Town of Poughkeepsie Police.

The robberies took place on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the Speedway Gas Station at 2545 South Road and the Chestnut Mobil at 2605 South Road in Poughkeepsie, O'Dowd said.

During both incidents, Marcinak allegedly carried a semi-automatic style handgun, wearing a black parka with her face partially covered, and demanded money from an employee.

During an investigation, Marcinak was developed as a suspect and the City of Newburgh Police located her and the vehicle used. She was arrested and turned over to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police.

She was charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Attempted robbery
  • Criminal possession of a weapon

Marcinak was held on a $200,000 bond and turned over to the Dutchess County Jail.
